After visiting Farmhouse 302, your next stop for the day should be at Maggie’s Milford Antiques and Friends on Walnut Street. Maggie’s reminds me of a traditional antique store. There is a nice blend of “behind the glass cabinet” items and full shelves with the bric a brac items that I love to comb through. I love the thrill of the hunt, and I get that here at Maggie’s. At Maggie’s you’ll find a mixed bag of antique furniture, vintage clothing, classic vinyl, and a really beautiful collection of antique clocks.

The owners are super friendly, and they’re also willing to negotiate, so if you have questions about anything make sure you ask. On a visit last winter, I was taken with a wooden toilet tank that I kept coming back to while in the store. I know that a toilet tank is a weird thing to be interested in, but what can I say? I like weird things. Anyway, after asking about its history, I not only received a full lesson in Victorian plumbing but also got some money knocked off the price tag. The toilet tank holds some dried eucalyptus now, in case you were wondering what I did with such an odd piece of indoor plumbing.
This time around, I went searching for an old brass microscope that I had seen there a year before, mostly just to visit with it because I thought it was beautiful but way out of my price range. I was happy to see that it was still there and 50% off, but still a little more than I wanted to spend. I mentioned the piece to Maggie in passing, and she ended up dropping the price even more for me. Those are the kind of deals I can get down with.

So, while I don’t always leave Maggie’s Milford Antiques and Friends with an armful of purchases, it only takes one stellar find to make me a repeat visitor and it is why you should become one as well.
Hit it if you’re in the market for beautiful antique pieces to add to your house, odd ball items (like toilet tanks and microscopes), jewelry, vinyl, or if you are just looking to satisfy your need to browse.
Also, if you’re into thrifting and you’re in the area, check out God’s Way Thrift Store on 1 Maple Avenue. It’s a solid spot for picking up furniture - great for DIY projects!
