We’re Libby and Matt - two teachers with some extra time on our hands.

Just like the rest of the world, COVID-19 changed every aspect of our lives. With our traditional school year coming to an abrupt halt last March, Matt and I have been together at home checking off the boxes of our to-do list and tackling several projects around the house. We’ve always been interested in DIY. Living the teacher lifestyle doesn’t always afford us with the ability to buy new or pay people to do work around the house for us, so we’ve had to get as creative as possible when trying to decorate, update, and style our very early-2000s home.

On family leave after the birth of our second child, Matt and I are fortunate to be home from work until December. A quick check of the calendar will show that, by the time we return to school, we’ll have spent almost eight and a half months together. This new normal has afforded us with a lot of time, and has also reinforced the importance of finding a way to work creatively when we can’t actually go to work. Inspired during an afternoon down the Pinterest rabbit hole, I convinced Matt that we absolutely needed a buffet in our dining area and that it should most definitely be painted green. And although the picture shows more of a bluish tint, he obliged.

And since then, we’ve been hooked.

So, we hope you enjoy what we’ve done here. As long as we have the time, we’re going to keep on going! Be sure to check back to see the upcoming projects we’re working on and some more before and after photos!
